Biological function of natural antimicrobial peptides are versatile and highly successful.
Antimicrobial peptides like the Magainins and Defensins are active active against a broad
spectrum of bacteria including gram-positive and gram-negative as well as antibiotic
resistant strains including MRSA.
MAPTrix¢â technology can provide antimicrobial biocoating material. Unlike conventional
chemical modification approach, MAPTrix¢â based approach is expected to generate more
consistent and reliable antimicrobial activity due to its precise control of antimicrobial peptide
density and their spatial distribution on the coating surface.
In vitro feasibility study is currently underway.
