	The MAPTrix platform technology provides a basis for building multiple-functional biomaterials that can be used as building blocks in a variety of life sciences applications such as tissue engineering scaffolds, drug delivery, and surface modification or coating of medical devices. Kollodis has developed the MAPTrix Combinatorial Library for the molecular construction of innovative smart biomaterials. Kollodis continues to construct novel biofunctional mussel adhesive proteins for the next-generation of smart biomaterials. ECM Building Block Contruction Process Currently, Kollodis has constructed a variety of building blocks to molecularly engineer and similate the extracellular matrix (ECM) by incorporating ECM-derived peptides into a mussel adhesive protein. The biological activity of our MAPTrix ECM Library is comparable with its corresponding natural ECM protein, as evidenced in primary and human derived mesenchymal stem cell cultures.
